The activities department is a most dynamic and creative engine at Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. We are dedicated to keeping you entertained and engaged, while enjoying yourself and others seven days a week. If you do not see what you want, just ask. We will always welcome your suggestions
It’s always nice to get out and about from time to time. The Center provides a number of recreational activities each month, offering you both familiar and new experiences outside our four walls. These entertaining, carefully planned field trips include visits to restaurants, museums, foliage tours, local theater and even Boston Harbor cruises, all enjoyed at a relaxed and comfortable pace.
So much to choose from
On average, the activities department offers five different activities each day. In the words of several of our residents, having such a wide assortment of well planned engaging activities to choose from is an enticing prospect, much like opening a fresh box of fine chocolates every day!
Something for everyone
Activities at the Center include: cookouts, coffee socials, bowling, balloon saloon, Card Shark Socials, Word Search contests, dance classes, roaming manicures, visiting musicians and entertainers, Pub and Trivia, crafts, Bingo, monthly birthday parties and Catholic and Protestant services. Like kids? We have regular visits from local schools and scouting troops.
Dogs and cats – what’s there not to love?
Animal visits are a highlight of any week. Sutton, a sweet, affectionate golden retriever who is also a certified therapy dog, makes regular rounds at the Center, brightening everyone’s day as he greets the residents. Other dogs and cats also make the rounds at the Center, and a pet of yours is welcome too - with the appropriate medical records, of course!
